Today was a really good day. I hope/wish they will all be like today. But…it’s not my first bike ride! Curt had a really good day so we are thrilled! He had to walk a few steep sections but he was thrilled and we didn’t see him until lunch break. He is encouraged that his recumbent is going to work Florida or bust😊
47 mi. 2300 climb 4:24 ais. Start at 46 degrees, ended at 80!

We went from beautiful high desert through a few small towns. What do people do in these places for a living? The rocky landscape is so interesting. It changed from granite to a sandstone.

Passed the Border Patrol headquarters. Used the “facilities”. Just before Jacumba I saw what I thought was a railroad line but it was so distinct. Turns out it was the border wall. Kind of amazing to see it.

Spent the lunch break chit chatting with an old local guy hanging out with “Blondie” the German Shepherd in front of a market/liquor store in Jacumba (hacumba). Regretting not getting a picture today of him. He’s 70 ( my brother Joes age) but physiologically much older. He said he used to race bikes. Now he smokes cigarettes and walks Blondie
Up and over the last climb from Jacumba to Ocotillo in the Imperial Valley. About 80 degrees. What a great descent. 14 miles down to our RV campground. Super nice RV owners gave us the “Rec room” to relax and spread out. Shower, tv, lounge chairs. Place to ourselves. Donation fee.

Love this Suzy!!!! Glad today was a great day!! Thanks for the great pictures too!!♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰
