Day 12. Too much motel time

Never have I ever had a glove tan like this
Motel time

Woke up prepared to ride again. The forecast was 80% chance of rain all day with flash floods….again. So we stayed in Globe…again. Long day, walked around Globe. Mostly antique junk shops, cool old historical buildings. Lying around on a motel bed reading kindle novels, following the hot bed of Clovid-19 news. In a word…looong day.

Of course, it never really rained here all day. Forecast still says it will rain tonite and tomorrow but it’s only 50%. So we are leaving no matter what. Ready to get on with this adventure. However, our decision to reroute and skip the original route turned out to be wise. There are/were flash floods on that route and they closed the highway! We would have been stranded in the middle of nowhere camping in the rain with tremendous amounts of rain.

Original courthouse now an art museum. I really like the stairs
Original post office is still the one they use. Reminds me of the Miles City post office.
Still has mail boxes with combination locks
Original jailhouse. Museum now

  1. How fortunate that this town had the foresight to keep the original facade of these buildings. Poor Miles City has people running it with no taste or care for the original cow town and too much biting down of buildings probably for insurance money.
