Cycling through Crisis, week 3

We have our routine, great exercise, scenery, nice and friendly people giving us a thumbs up, a smile and encouragement. All this fun makes watching the pandemic expand seem like it’s happening somewhere else, doesn’t pertain to us. I suspect a lot of people still feel that way because no one close to them has fallen ill . However I suspect most of us will have someone close die from this before it’s over and there may not be a funeral to go pay respects. That will strike harder than waiting for the economic hits to come. It’s sobering to think about but not paralysing. We rode today into our first all day strong headwind. Tomorrow it may be stronger or less. The country is riding into the headwinds of a pandemic that we cannot predict . Hopefully with everyone’s efforts we will sail through the storm intact though not unaffected. As we hear around here, “stay safe, yawl”.

West Texas , miles and miles to go.
