Miles and Miles

My image of Texas is completely changed. My old image was like what you see in an old Western movie – dry, dusty, thorn bushes and cacti on endless flat land. Now I know that as we entered the Hill Country from then on it was different. First a lot of big steep hills with flowing rivers then from Austin on it was green. Still hilly but now forested, even national forests and wilderness. Loblolly pines are majestic! Then the hot, wet flat coastal plain. Texans like to Jack up duelly pickups and put on oversized tires. In AZ , it was custom loud exhaust. In CA , fancy fast cars. Now onto Louisiana, Beauregard Parish. Fewer preconceptions about LA, except bayous, Cajuns and swamp. More new country, food and backroads. Looking forward to experiencing the Deep South for the first time. Curt
