ROADWORTHY STATS: As seen from the saddle. Roadkill, living critters and other interesting oddities
Roadkill:
- 4 boars – 1 really large one
- 1 alligator (about 3’)
- 1 porcupine
- Possums -most popular roadkill in the south. They have fierce teeth like a sabertooth rat. They have the most teeth of any land mammal.
- Armadillo – all the time. Almost as often as possum, but they are just too slow to live.
- Buzzards: same as above.
- Turtles – sometimes.
Living or Inanimate
- 1 Snapping turtle
- 1 bald eagle
- 2 watermelon trucks
- 2 dildos (sitting together on a piece of cardboard…on display)
- Logging trucks. At first they surprised me, but I learned they have tree farms everywhere.
- Confederate flags-quite a few, mostly in FL
- 2 Biden- Harris yard signs. Proud democrats in a red state obviously
- 2 Trump-DeSantis yard signs. Hopeful, obviously. Don’t think it’s going to happen.
- Zillion Trump varieties of yard sign, flags banners. Obviously strong Republican presence.
- charging cords. They are frequent. I guess people just toss them out the window?
- Mardi Gras beads. For miles and days we saw these in Louisiana. Purple, green and gold! They love Mardi Gras in Louisiana!
- Trucking tie down straps, bungees and related trucking attachments. Everywhere. (Always glad they don’t come flying off as I am riding. That could really hurt or worse!)
- Truck shredded tires.
