Are we getting in better shape? We had a hellacious wind this afternoon but managed to maintain a nice overall speed. We started at 8:15am trying to get as far as possible before the wind ramped up. We finished pretty early (1:00pm) and the wind was cooking. We even had a really quick lunch stop hiding behind a community center. After we stopped for a quick lunch we had to bundle up again. Kind of chilly today. The high was suppose to be about 60 today but factor in the wind.

We are camping at the usual RV campground tonight. But this one is a class act. A+ in my rating system. We asked if our tent site might even be remotely out of the wind. Better yet, Brenda told us, her husband had just built an A frame and we could stay in there… out of the wind!!! Great deal. We had a whole afternoon to kill, so now we were comfortable with chairs and a table and outlets and lights!! Woot woot… life is good today. We actually set the tent up inside so we don’t roll around off our pads in the night… and it’s a little warmer.
As luck would have it… across from the campground was a food truck and gas/bar shop. Liquor is only sold in NSLC stores… this was one of those… so a beer and a cider. They have good cider here because they have good apples here… I’ve discovered.

Hockey goals are multi-purpose

and out of the wind!!
If it weren’t so ugly with blowing wind (20-25mph), we would be enjoying our tent site right on the bay. It’s quite beautiful in this part of NS. I guess there are warm water, sandy beaches. Not today though.
Back to my A+ rating. The showers were the best we’ve had yet! Unlimited hot water (no coins required), good water pressure, big clean shower with a nice big dressing area for each shower room. Lots of hooks too. Great mat outside the shower too. Simple pleasures right?
Next door to our A-frame is one of those big bouncy trampolines! Since it was right there both Jim and I got on it and bounced for a short while. It was fun… great idea for kids!
I took only a few photos today… most of which were before the wind really kicked in.

he building itself was a cool design.
What Nova Scotia home owners top 2 priorities are…
In no particular order we see a lot of people in the countryside doing both of these things… everyday and all day
1. Mowing the lawn. The amount of grass most peoples homes has is gigantic. Of course you need a ride mower. Do you spend a whole day once a week mowing?… or do you split it into smaller sections and mow everyday or every other day?

that didn’t fit in the photo!
So many yards are half this size or as big as this!!!
2. Cut wood, chop wood, stack wood. Many homes use wood as a source of heat… or they just have a backyard campfire 360 days a year. Seriously though, every yard has a campfire pit and circle of chairs… even in town.
Odds and Ends…

Summit Cabinetry in Billings MT…
your Canadian counterpart!
Tomorrow… short day into Antigonish (ant-to-hon-ish). It’s a short day because I thought I was going to be in a long walk-in clinic queue! I wanted to get there really early to be first🤣🤣
Thanks for the update on miles per week. Weeks 2 and 5 were long ones. Close to 1200 miles is like a wow moment for me. Nice to see your little out of wind A frame enclosure. Tonight in Miles it’s a very nice no wind night. Really beautiful for Autumn evening.
