Day 6. 47 mi. ais 4:29. Palo Verde CA to Quartzite AZ

To everyone that I horrified yesterday today was calm and quiet! Easy morning Rise and shine on the banks of the Colorado. Neighbors camping for the winter ( they move every 14 days back and forth) were from BC,Canada. So you know they were Canadian friendly😊. One guy told us a back way to Blythe free of semis for about 15 miles. Farm fields along the Colorado. Pleasant ride to Blythe.

Curt getting started. Sometimes we call him Fred ..as in Flintstone
Good morning
Morning view as we’re riding out
Cibola. Living on the banks of the Colorado
In Montana it’s rows of wheat fields. Here it’s onions

The second we entered Blythe is was a unanimous stop at a local bakery/deli. Delicious food…perfect stop. Starting to heat up quickly when we left Blythe. From here it was an I-10 Interstate ride for about 10 miles. We climbed up and out of the Colorado river valley and dropped into Quartzite.

The pedestrian bridge to cross the Colorado from California to Arizona
Freeway in Arizona. Piece of cake after yesterday’s ride

Quartzite is a small size town (3000) with nothing but RV camping and all the services to go with it. Outside of town the RVs boondock or dry camp…dispersed everywhere!! It’s kind of amazing place. Also famous for gem and mineral shows.

Our RV camp allows tenting because there are about 5 small trees with shade. This camp has ALOT of rules (think Lost Trail Hot Springs) and I managed to break 2 within the hour! 1. No washing clothes in the shower. 2. No charging anything outside of the 1 hr limit in the pavilion. Fortunately I’m really stealthy

Just one of the rules broken. Saw this after the fact…honestly!!

Tent camping next to us is Judy. She’s a beach girl from So Cal. I visible car so not sure how she relocates when it gets hot. Anyway Judy was chatty and watched our belongings when we went to the pizza joint. It was jumping on Friday night. Dancing to country western and some 80s Eagles and REM. My kind of old school place. Full of retirees but some young people too.

Judy with no middle name. Claims she knew Evil Knieval when she sold him an RV in LA.
